Mr Lee Jian Xuan assumed the position of Acting Area Director, Malaysia & Brunei on 1 February 2022. Together with the STB Malaysia team, he oversees the Board’s destination promotion and marketing efforts in key regional markets such as Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia and Laos to ensure that Singapore remains the top-of-mind leisure and business destination among Southeast Asian visitors.
In his previous role as Senior Manager, India and South Asia (Mumbai), Jian Xuan was responsible for strategic partnerships with the travel trade, airlines and key stakeholders, such as pan-India travel agent SOTC as well as e-payment gateway Paytm. He also handled STB’s campaigns in the Sri Lanka market. Jian Xuan has also worked on projects critical to tourism recovery such as border reopenings and hotel Covid-19 operations and policy, in the wake of the pandemic.
Jian Xuan joined the Singapore Tourism Board in 2016 as an in-house public and media relations specialist, providing communications support to STB’s marketing and business teams, and regional offices.
Jian Xuan began his career as a journalist with Singapore’s national broadsheet daily, The Straits Times, in 2013. He graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Communications.
